Q. Why should I pay maintenance?

A. GB Telecom fully appreciates the importance of seamless telecommunication and its impact on today’s business. Engineer call-outs and replacement parts can be particularly expensive. So your maintenance contract not only provides you with financial peace of mind but also the re-assurance that your business will suffer only limited disruption in the event of telecommunication failure.

Q. Only one telephone handset is working, what causes this?

A. This can be caused by a failure of the cooling fans within the telephone system. The system automatically shuts down all other ports to safeguard the system from overheating. Check the LED indicators on the CPU board within the telephone system to see if the FAN led is showing red.

A. Has the telephone system defaulted to its factory settings? Check to see if when calling other extensions the correct name appears.
A. If the telephone system has factory defaulted all the extensions are automatically barred from making national, international or mobile calls
A. Is there a fault with the external BT lines? Check to see if there are green led’s on the ISDN line boxes or check to see if there is a dialling tone when selecting each of the line keys on the main operator telephone
A. Is it affecting all handsets or just one in particular? The handset could be locked and in which case try dialling 17 followed by the extension’s password (1515 default or Voicemail password if activated)
