ISDN2e – Fixed Line

ISDN2e (Integrated Services Digital Network ) is a telephone line which provides 64kb/sec connection to your premises. Basic ISDN access provides 2 digital telephone lines (known as channels). ISDN works at high speed with excellent clarity for both speech and data applications. Applications supported by ISDN include:

Telephone numbers
If you wish, you can have separate phone numbers for telephones or other devices connected to your Telephone System. How you do this depends on your line configuration:

If your lines are Digital Standard you can add additional Multi Subscriber Numbers (MSN’s) and point each one directly to your chosen devices. If you choose Digital Standard lines you are restricted to only 2 channels (lines) on the one ISDN.

If your lines are Digital System you can add additional numbers via Direct Dialing In DDI. DDI are provided in blocks of ten or you can have a Single Direct Dialing In (SNDDI).  If you choose Digital System lines you are not restricted to the amount of channels you can have though it would be advisable stop at around to 5 x ISDN2e (10 Lines) and move to ISDN30e.

ISDN30E – Fixed Line

A single high-quality ISDN30e connection has between eight and thirty 64k channels. In normal operation you use these separately. This allows simultaneous calls over each channel. You can add further connections to your installation, increasing the number of simultaneous calls.

Telephone numbers
You can have an unlimited number of DDI numbers, allowing customers and business contacts to dial directly through to staff members, without passing through a switchboard.

Excellent for voice calls, you can connect high-quality digital phones to an ISDN circuit.

ISDN30e is also compatible with Computer Telephony Integration, (CTI) allows you to see a caller's details before you answer the phone. This could, for example, enable you staff to check a caller's credit and buying history before engaging in conversation.
